Railway Gala Weekend
Gala Weekend is over for another year. It was hot, but everyone seems to have enjoyed themselves - volunteers, exhibitors and visitors alike judging from the feed back we have received.
Pleae click the Gala Weekends link above for a report on how things went and for the all important photos.
And in case you still haven't had enough - the next railway event at Amberley will be our Autumn Industrial Trains event on Sunday 17 October. All the usual fun plus shed tours too.
Now that Peter is back in steam, the courses are once again being offered.
Although we added two extra dates, the course is again almost fully booked so if you are contemplating trying it, you would be best advised to act sooner rather than later!!

Our steam locomotive driving course dates for 2010 are:-

These links will take you to a series of slideshows of the Museum's railway as it was up to 25 years ago.
The chronology should be about right but if you spot any glaring errors or inconsistencies, then please let us know.
Thanks to Richard Cossey for the loan of the photographs from the Brockham Museum, the 1982-85 and 1988 sections.
... on the Amberley Museum Narrow Gauge Railway
We are always happy to welcome new volunteers to Amberley, not just on the railway but generally.
Ideally new volunteers should already be 2 foot gauge, like the one illustrated, but our workshop
facilities have the means to regauge suitable candidates if necessary - even from standard gauge!
Contact information is given at the foot of this page.
